London Taxi Company | UK : Efficient NVH optimization refines London's black cab design
The client
The London Taxi Company (LTC) has been using the m+p Analyzer to further improve the noise performance and passenger comfort of its iconic Black Cabs. The system is utilized during product development and in manufacturing for quality control.
The solution
LTC performed these measurements in-house using microphones, a driveline speed signal and an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) connected to m+p Analyzer software running on a laptop PC. The system produced real-time colour maps and order tracks of A-weighted noise versus driveline speed as the vehicle accelerated and decelerated.
The result
With its portability and intuitive design, the system can be redeployed between taxis in minutes. Its integrated processing and storage capabilities significantly reduce overall measurement time.
